Why I still don’t have a Microwave Oven
I wondered anyone would believe me if I am going to tell you people that I actually never own a microwave oven before. Microwave oven has become so popular in this competitive world where everyone seems can’t afford to lose even 1 or 2 minutes. In fact, it is something we will see it in almost every kitchen.
I know it’s so convenient. But check this out:
“In 1991, there was a lawsuit in Oklahoma concerning the hospital use of a microwave oven to warm blood needed in a transfusion. It seems the nurse had warmed the blood in a microwave oven.Blood for transfusions is routinely warmed, but not in microwave ovens. In the case, Norma Levitt died from a simple blood transfusion in a hip surgery.
Obviously, the microwaving altered the blood and it killed her. This tragedy makes it very apparent that there’s much more to “heating” with microwaves than we’ve been led to believe. ”
Thus, I still spend 10 minutes to warm the fresh milk from the fridge for my girl in just hot water. I think it’s safer. Somehow, I can absolutely understand why many are still using it. It’s just like cell phones. Something that we can never let go once we started to depend on it. Hehe……
